Stylized 3D Look for Popeye

A strong work by Matthew Kean.

Matthew Kean, a lead character artist at ArenaNet and simply a very talented professional, revealed his 3D version of Popeye.

It might be hard to call it truly realistic, but the artist definitely brought the character to life, unbelievably giant forearms and a signature tattoo included.

The real-time model is around 30K triangles and uses 2K texture maps rendered in Marmoset Toolbag. The model was created using ZBrush, Quixel DDO, Maya, and Photoshop.

For more works by Kean, visit his ArtStation, which is full of detailed character art and some animals.
