Take a Closer Look at 3D Character Model of Chi from Stone Lions Don't Roar

Look Development and Lighting Artist Alexa Miars shared a closer look at her work on Stone Lions Don't Roar, an animated film directed by Leah Whalen and created using Maya and Houdini.

Alexa Miars worked on the character's look development, from texturing, surfacing, grooming, and card scattering. The artist shared that it was an entertaining challenge to create a work in this distinct art style.

The film follows a heartfelt story of two sisters navigating harsh life circumstances:

"In a world where one's emotions manifest as a living beast, two orphaned sisters must reconcile their fraught relationship as they cross the militarily occupied countryside."
