Take a Look at This Jaw-Dropping Fan-Made 3D Animation of Marvel's Carnage
3D Animator Adrian Nita shared another awesome character animation made with Maya.
In Adrian Nita's 3D animation, Carnage's arms extend and turn into massive axes. As the character's arms change shape, they become extra bendy, almost rubbery. With his masterful use of smear frames, the artist makes the character's movement look sharp, rapid, and powerful.
To create the animation, the artist used Selina op't Hof's rig made with Maya and Tre Vital's 3D model. The rig comes with all the crucial components, including joints, controls, face systems, weapons, and more. The 3D model accounts for extendable limbs, with varying lengths for the tendrils to compensate for texture stretching. For the ground shatter effect, the artist used a pack of Maya debris effects from Hotaru.
Although the original character is not as rubbery and his movement appears more fluid, some users liked Nita's interpretation so much they said they'd love to see a similar motion for Carnage if Marvel ever decides to add him as a playable character in Rivals.
This is not the artist's first experiment with 3D character animation. You can find more on his LinkedIn.
