Tencent Has Seemingly Lost the "Horizon Clone" Legal Battle to Sony
LIGHT OF MOTIRAM has been removed from Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In July, Sony sued Tencent over the alleged similarities between the former's renowned Horizon series and the latter's new action-adventure LIGHT OF MOTIRAM, developed by Tencent's subsidiary Polaris Quest.
Five months later, it seems that the sides have reached a "confidential settlement," and while no one besides Sony and Tencent knows its contents, the observable outcome strongly hints that the Chinese gaming giant has lost this battle to its Japanese brethren.

According to the court document, the lawsuit in question has been "dismissed with prejudice" – which means that it can't be re-litigated – with The Verge's subsequent report stating that an agreement had been reached between the two sides. "SIE and Tencent are pleased to have reached a confidential resolution and will have no further public comment on this matter," said the Head of Communications for Tencent Americas.
Following the announcement, the game's Steam and Epic Games Store pages have both been deactivated, joining its official announcement trailer, which got sent to the Internet's backrooms a couple of months ago. At the moment, it is unknown what the agreement between Sony and Tencent says, leaving LIGHT OF MOTIRAM's fate a mystery.
