The Capcom Exhibition Showed Some Street Fighter 2 Original Level Designs
Capcom also showed things from Resident Evil and Monster Hunter.
The Great Capcom Exhibition ran from December 20 to February 22 in Tokyo to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Capcom, and before that, it was held in Osaka, Nagoya, and Tottori. The exhibition shows the creation and changes of their games over the years.
Genki_JPN from Twitter/X spotted the images and shared some of the Street Fighter 2 designs that were on display at the event. The blueprints show a very important and interesting stage in the creation process: sketching to decide the game style.
Snap Taste also made an article talking about the exhibition, sharing more images of the things that you could see.
The exhibit is reportedly scheduled to run again at Niigata Bandaijima Art Museum from March 14th to June 21st of this year.
Most recently, Capcom released Resident Evil: Requiem, the latest mainline entry in its long-running survival horror series. It sold a record-setting five million copies in just five days. They've continued to use their in-house RE Engine for a decade now. The engine was first created alongside Resident Evil 7.
Pragmata is the next major release from Capcom this year, slated for a release on April 17.
