This Game Allows You to Create Your Own Stylized Waterfalls with Realistic Behavior

Mogmek's Waterfalls Dream is a relaxing builder that lets you make and edit waterfalls in real time.

Developer Mogmek shared another update for his cozy, nature-inspired builder, Waterfalls Dream. In the game, you can create and adjust gorgeous stylized waterfalls by using real-time editable voxel terrain. You can add rocks, trees, more water, or even rubber ducks to change things up.

Once you're happy with how the scene looks, you can capture it on camera like a National Geographic reporter. You can adjust the aperture, tweak color settings, apply filters, and even add a slow-motion effect to enhance the final shot.

The game makes use of rigid and elastic bodies, cloth, sand, and numerous types of water systems. It features two-way interactions between all assets in the scene. The artist noted he built everything in Godot on a Mac, so the usual Mac and Windows support is guaranteed. A Linux version might be coming later.

Everything you see in the game is procedurally generated, which might be one of the reasons why it's so GPU-friendly. As Mogmek says, "Even a potato can run this scene," even though the foam alone is set up using 7 different systems.

The developer shared that he had the idea of a nature-inspired diorama builder with water FX, and he drew inspiration from the Altai waterfalls.

"My goal is to give players the ability to look at the nature around them – and recreate it easily, while being able to reproduce any water-based effects they might miss out on in other games of the genre," Mogmek explained.
