Tips On How To Get A Level Design Job

Max Pears from Level Design Lobby shared some tips on how to get a level design role in the game industry.

In the snippet, Max Pears gave three tips on working in the level design:

  • Show off your blockouts in your portfolio. There's no need to be ashamed that you start with grey cubes.
  • Create blockouts based on existing games. There is always a list of mechanics that were used there. You don't have to create something new all the time.
  • Create blockouts based on different beats and locations to challenge yourself. Practice makes you perfect, right? Don't be afraid to try something new, work with the feedback you get, so you can enhance your project and add a good-quality work to your portfolio.
