Tips on Tweaking Hard-Surface Models

Check the work-in-progress video with tips on how to fix lumps and bumps on hard-surfaces.

Mike Andrew Nash, also known as M.A.N. Studios, creates sci-fi projects, focusing on mechanical and creature design and style look development. He recently shared a little tutorial on how to tweak and clean hard-surface models.

In the tutorial, you’ll the cleaning process using ZBrush’s move, hpolish, dynamesh brushes. The key point of this step is that it’s possible to get your hard-surface model as clean as possible, but you have to be patient since you need to work with such little details as uneven edges and lines. Don’t forget about the lighting settings, too, it will help find out the spots.

He also has a Gumroad page, where you can find tutorials on sci-fi characters. For more videos and support, check out the Patreon account.
