Unrolling Digital Muscle Layout In Blender
Cartesian Caramel has also released the synthetic muscle printing setup for free.
We've featured Cartesian Caramel's recent Blender 5.2 LTS experiments a few times, showcasing a printing-like process for visualizing muscle fibers. From back muscles to hands, the artist has explored various configurations and is now ready to share the demo below with the public for free, as he often does.
This setup prints synthetic muscles in Blender 5.2 and does not work correctly in Blender 5.1, as Cartesian Caramel notes. It's intended for educational purposes, and a working knowledge of Geometry Nodes is required, since most of the logic is contained within the Geometry Node editor. Download it here.
Right now, Cartesian Caramel is into full-body muscle printing, as you can see in the mesmerizing video at the top of the article. As always, if you want to learn more, you can watch the livestreams on YouTube, where the Geometry Nodes setups behind these projects are explained, adjusted, and explored in real-time.
In the past, the artist made the viral Wrinkle Tension Shader, which uses surface tension to create the illusion of detailed fabric wrinkle deformation. It's also available for free on his Gumroad page.
