You Can Now Hatch & Raise Pet Chickens In Counter-Strike 2

Just a few days ago, Valve rolled out the Rush Hour update, bringing some huge changes to CS2, including a brand-new game mode, and it also quietly added something pretty unexpected: pet chickens. Now, chickens are nothing new to the Counter-Strike series. But this time, it's different: players can receive a Chicken Egg through their Weekly Drop (taking up both available reward slots), which eventually hatches into a chick before growing into a chicken.

Once claimed, the egg sits in a small basket next to your character in the main menu, where you can inspect it. There are three different chicken breeds to collect, along with more than 30 color variants. Players can interact with their chickens up close, pet them, give them names, feed them, and even record them in a dedicated Hatchbook. There's currently no confirmation from Valve regarding the rarity tiers or whether the chickens will be tradeable in the future.

The most interesting part is that Valve hasn't said anything about this addition at all: everything we know so far comes from what players have observed in-game and dataminers, meaning the information may be incomplete or unreliable.
