Rajitha Naranpanawa showcased a great recreation of Shotaro Kaneda made with ZBrush, Substance 3D, and Unreal Engine.
3D Character Artist Rajitha Naranpanawa, whose realistic 3D digital human portraits were featured several times here on 80 Level, continues the series with one more stunning artwork inspired by the legendary 1988 cyberpunk animated movie Akira.
Using such programs as Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, Marvelous Designer, XGen, and Unreal Engine, as well as TexturingXYZ's materials, the artist has reimagined Akira's protagonist Shotaro Kaneda entirely in 3D. As stated by the author, the goal of the project was to get out of the comfort zone and experiment with new character art workflows.
Previously, Rajitha also unveiled a 3D recreation of The Last of Us II's Ellie, made using Mari, Maya, ZBrush, XGen, V-Ray, DaVinci Resolve:
