3D Artist Samuel Djian has revealed the Magic Stone project, a cool experimental project that combines the technical, the artistic, and the level art. The project features a colorful yet rocky terrain, generated by the artist using World Machine, with a magical artifact as the centerpiece of the entire scene. To create the assets, the artist utilized ZBrush, Maya, Substance 3D Painter/Designer, and SpeedTree. The foliage, textures, and some rocks, commented Samuel, are from Megascans.
To set up the green orb, dust, and butterflies FXs, the artist used Unreal Engine 5 and its Niagara VFX system. According to Samuel, all the effects were made by watching various tutorials. Rendering and lighting were also made in UE5.
