I still have 5 minutes!
If you are as much of a John Wick fan as I am, chances are you've already recognized the scene depicted in the render above, showcased recently by 3D Artist Han Minhee over on ArtStation.
Depicting the shady doctor's office from John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the one where John was patched up before becoming excommunicado at the beginning of the movie, Han's environment features tons of eye-catching details, meticulously translated from the original film to the realm of 3D art.
To set up the multitude of the scene's assets, the creator utilized a slew of various 3D software, including ZBrush, 3ds Max, Substance 3D Painter/Designer, Substance 3D Assets, RizomUV, Marvelous Designer, and Megascans. The final environment was set up and rendered in Unreal Engine, with Han opting for a brighter lighting scenario compared to the one featured in the movie.
You can check out more renders by visiting Han's ArtStation page.
Earlier, 3D Character Artist Arthur Siraev also utilized the power of Unreal Engine for a John Wick-inspired project, producing a realistic recreation of the man itself, leveraging UE5 in combination with ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, Marvelous Designer, and XGen to achieve the final result.
And back in late 2023, VFX studio The Yard shared an interesting breakdown explaining how they blew up New York Continental in the fourth John Wick movie, which you may also find interesting if you're a fan of the series.
