Artist Recreates Vampire Hunter D-Style Shader In Blender
Jörm absolutely nailed the retro anime aesthetic.
3D Artist Jörm shared a WIP look at their Blender shader inspired by the visual style of the Vampire Hunter D animated films, particularly Bloodlust, with Leila Marcus as a reference. There's still plenty of work left to do: the rest of the body is not yet complete, and the ears are not finalized.
Even at this stage, the interactivity and the shadows and highlights around the lips and nose already look fantastic, giving the character a very authentic cel-anime aesthetic. Virendra Kumar's YouTube channel is an excellent place to begin if you're looking to learn how to create anime-style art in Blender:
