Artist Showcases a 3D Deadpool Sculpt That Looks Like a 2D Drawing

The addition of PBR textures turned a simple speed-sculpt into a true masterpiece.

Sergey Kunmay, a 3D Artist specializing primarily in stylized character modeling, has recently paid tribute to Marvel's most iconic anti-hero, presenting a highly detailed digital take on Deadpool.

Initially meant to be a simple speed-sculpting exercise, the project eventually got enhanced with the addition of PBR textures, which gave the 3D model the appearance of a 2D illustration. As for the software, the creator utilized a combination of ZBrush, Blender, Substance 3D Painter, and Marmoset Toolbag to model, texture, and render the piece.

Speaking of Deadpool, a couple of weeks ago, 3D Animator Robert Morrison showcased a neat hand-key-framed animation made in Maya, depicting the character jumping around and attacking invisible enemies with his iconic katana:
