Breakdown: Creating VFX in Unreal Engine 4

Pawel Margacz shared his production process of creating VFX using UE4.

Pawel Margacz did a breakdown video, where he shared his approach to creating two types of visual effects in UE4: cast and impact.

For this scene, he created a set up in Houdini for rigid bodies and imported them into UE4. The ground-breaking effect of the scene was made in Houdini, and the visual effects were made with the same set of elements, flash, lens, circle, and sparks with various settings.

If you want to learn more about VFX production, check out Pawel’s Twitter account where he posts about his process.
