Jussi Kemppainen shared updates on Drivers of the Apocalypse.
Jussi Kemppainen, Principal VFX artist at Remedy Games and a Solo Developer of the vehicle combat game titled Drivers of the Apocalypse, showcased a new piece of work on the project featuring a bizarre turbine machine, reminiscent of Dune's sandworms.
The developer showcased progress on a machine mesh and mentioned that he had started modeling the carved hull for the turbine machine. Among other changes, the dev also decoupled the driving physics from the visible mesh and turned each segment into its own rigid body, making collisions with vehicles respond realistically. According to the developer, much remains to be done, including creating the cockpit.
Drivers of the Apocalypse is a high-octane action-driving combat game set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. You play as Artemis, a junior mercenary working for Thunder Strike Force. Your mission is to stop deadly convoys, defeat powerful bosses, and survive.

Apart from automobiles, the action game features a procedurally generated freight train, along with smooth car painting mechanics and a tech tree upgrade system:
