Co-Op Tank Horror Carcass Clad Revealed As Next Game From Mouthwashing Developers

That's quite an unusual shift in genre.

Following the success of Mouthwashing, Wrong Organ returned with a surprising new direction for its next project: a three-player horror game in which players must work together to guide a tank through a war-torn city of Vhorgorod. Carcass Clad was announced at the PC Gaming Show, though no release date has been confirmed.

Operating the tank called Yksiö is entirely diegetic, with every lever, control, and mechanism handled manually. Each crew member has a distinct role inside the tank as you navigate the streets, relying on communication under intense pressure to coordinate your escape. In a conversation with Game Informer, the team explained that their guiding philosophy is that "Wrong Organ should never be making what you expect us to", and that they're definitely not done with narrative games, but don't want their next title to just live in the shadow of Mouthwashing.

Why is it called Carcass Clad? Because the vehicles your enemies ride in are "carcass clad", they're covered in half-dead, conjoined farm animals that function as living armor. Wrong Organ also explained that the player characters do have names, personalities, and backstories in the game world, but they aren't the main focus, they function like avatars, similar to Left 4 Dead.

"With the success of Mouthwashing, we are privileged to find ourselves in a position where we can truly focus on creating bold and unique experiences. We have brought on some extra people to help bring our ideas to life as well, a luxury that was hard to imagine before the release of Mouthwashing.

Knowing that the sustainability of Wrong Organ doesn't singlehandedly hinge on whatever our immediate next project is has been amazing, and we can only hope we continue to find ourselves in that position. All the doors that have opened and all the people that we've met, we’re grateful for, and we're looking forward to bringing you more games in the future!"
