Character Combining Realistic & Painterly Styles Created in ZBrush

Jan Haller Sáenz shared these renders with a unique mixture of artistic approaches.

This militant character created with mixed graphics, combining realistic and painterly styles, was brought to life by 3D Character Artist Jan Haller Sáenz. Based on the concept image by Concept Artist Gwang-Seop Han, the 3D character was sculpted in ZBrush. As for the skin, Jan Haller Sáenz used a mixture of XYZ textures and hand-sculpted details. The topology was completed in Blender and UVs in Rizom, while baking and texturing were done in Substance 3D Painter.

Jan Haller Sáenz shared that he experimented with mixing techniques to combine stylized and realistic elements. For example, on the metal parts, he painted the Normal Map and combined it with a stylized Base Color to achieve a unique effect.
