Facial Rig Tests For Stylized Characters In 3D Short Film
Meet Noah and Jade.
Florence Simon recently shared a closer look at two of the main characters from Sans Contact, a graduation film created by a group of students from MoPA, a French 3D animation school.
Above, you can see Noah, featuring an expressive facial rig developed by Florence. Anaëlle Boyer handled the character design, modeling, texturing, and grooming, while Quentin Pisapia did the cloth simulation.
Meet Jade, another character created by the same talented team of artists. Florence shared that for Jade, she transferred a base set of blendshapes and skinning from Noah, then extensively refined them to better match her unique facial features. She also tested the facial rig once again through this calisthenics exercise:
