Here's How You Can Deform Fracture Objects in Blender

Check out a new mind-blowing project from Bbbn192.

3D Artist and Animator Cartesian "Bbbn192" Caramel, whose marvelous paint erosion effect was featured just a few days ago here on 80 Level, impresses us for the second week in a row with one more mind-blowing setup.

With a couple of demos and a detailed 80-minute-long tutorial, the creator showcased how you can deform fracture objects with a mesh in Blender and provided an in-depth explanation of how the effect was set up with the help of Geometry Nodes. Similar to other recent projects by Cartesian, this particular setup is driven by Blender 4.1, an upcoming Blender update currently in its Alpha stage.

Earlier, the artist also demonstrated a Geometry Nodes-based rigging system, a recreation of the timeline collapse effect from the Loki TV series, an amazing procedural spider robot animation, a neat fence-melting effect, a stunning branching paths VFX, a delicious baking bread animation, a fully-functioning custom machine learning algorithm made with Geometry Nodes, a cool-looking robotic cable arm, fantastic LEGO assembly effects, and more. You can check out all of these projects and more by visiting the author's Twitter page.

And here are some more of Cartesian's insightful guides on all things Blender 4.1:
