The tactility of it all.
If you need a reminder of just how creative game devs can be, Alanna Okun's 2026 graduate thesis at NYU Tisch ITP is a lovely example. She made a game about knitting and then literally knit the entire setup, housing the computer beneath it. Even the joystick is a yarn ball: so clever and ridiculously adorable.
Loose Ends is available on itch.io. It takes you back to 2009, where you find yourself on a rainy day, passing the time by knitting. Best experienced on desktop.
