Morrigan Aensland From Capcom's Darkstalkers Reimagined In Realistic Style

Truly phenomenal work.

Creating fan art and trying to capture the original style is already a fun challenge, but adding your own take while still keeping the character recognizable makes it even more interesting. Renowned 3D Artist Sherif Dawoud showcased his version of Morrigan from Capcom's Darkstalkers fighting series, adding realism without losing her recognizable design.

The face sculpt is absolutely stunning, so lifelike and beautifully done. As usual, the artist used ZBrush for sculpting and rendered the model in Marmoset Toolbag. The hair was created in Blender using Geometry Nodes. Scroll down below for a closer look:

More renders are available on ArtStation.

Sherif Dawoud occasionally shares tutorials, which are definitely worth a look if you want to get closer to this level of quality. See his approach to painting the torso and hands in ZBrush:

You can also read our interview with Sherif from last year and follow him on X/Twitter if you want more 3D sculpting inspiration:

We talk to other talented artists about their sculpting work as well, so there's plenty more to explore.
