Naughty Dog Is Working On An Unannounced Title Alongside Intergalactic

Naughty Dog is trying to move on from its label as The Last of Us studio. Its brand-new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a space-themed sci-fi adventure that has been in development since 2020 and was announced last December, has garnered fans' attention and anticipation by promising to offer "a lot of player freedom." However, it appears that more games are expected beyond this one, as Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann just confirmed that "another game" is being worked on. 

During the last minute of the latest episode of the Press X to Continue podcast, Druckmann discussed his attitude toward handling multiple roles simultaneously — he has directed some episodes of the TV adaptation of The Last of Us while also working on the new sci-fi game. In fact, multitasking is one of the aspects he enjoys most about his job. Druckmann also expressed his satisfaction in supporting others, providing examples to illustrate his points.

"There is another game at Naughty Dog being worked on, and I am more of a producer role and get to mentor and watch this other team, give feedback, and be like the executive in the room." (spotted by Insider Gaming)

No further information is provided on this game. But back in March, Daniel Richtman, an insider, first revealed via their Patreon that such a title was being worked on at the studio for three years. It is directed by Shaun Escayg, the creative director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. (Thanks, The Game Post)

When Druckmann said last year that the studio won't be "The Last of Us Studio forever," he mentioned that multiple single-player games were in the works. The timing for Intergalactic, which was first made known last November, was officially revealed a month later. If the same pattern is applied, we could expect an official announcement about this mystery game not long after.
