Scotland-Inspired 3D Environment Made With Houdini, Maya & UE5

Jonathon Gregory Bick continues the Hinterlands series with one more impressive scene.

Check out Saint Eimears Ruins, a stunning medieval-looking 3D environment created by Environment Artist at Rockstar Games Jonathon Gregory Bick as part of the Hinterlands series, a collection of gorgeous digital scenes with strong Dark Souls and Elden Ring-like vibes.

Inspired by Scottish landscapes, Saint Eimears Ruins was made using Maya, Marmoset Toolbag, Houdini, Unreal Engine 5, and Meshroom, a neat free tool that can reconstruct 3D models of objects in photographs. Additionally, the artist utilized MWallace3D's Beefy Blackbirds pack to add the birds to the environment.
