Eric Alfaro made Lucid Blocks to show that Godot works very well for 3D games, using Godot 4.6 and a custom C++ GDExtension for the voxel engine. If you like the fractals, you can use them in your own Godot project, the code is available here.
Lucid Blocks is a dreamlike sandbox game about exploring liminal spaces. It features a crafting system called Apotheosis that lets you combine any items without recipes, an infinite world in all directions, and various tools like grappling hooks, gliders, wands, scuba gear, and explosives. You can meet many strange creatures, build freely in a voxel world with beautiful blocks, and share your creations with other dreamers.
The developer plans to continue working on the game and add more content and features, but Lucid Blocks already supports mods. It also supports controllers, with button rebinds available in the settings. Below are a few screenshots from the game:
