Take a Look at this Axe Created to Survive in an Apocalyptic World

Take a closer look at this apocalyptic axe, showing how the details and the realistic textures of the wood, the leather, and the rope were made.

dilip jangid, Freelancer 3D Game Artist, created the Wasteland Axe for POD 8 Studio. He shared close looks at the weapon, showing the details and the realistic texture of the wood, the leather, and the rope.

The axe looks like an item you'd have to find as part of a task in a scenario where you have to break or fight against something in a video game, or like an item you could build if you find the pieces in an apocalyptic game.

jangid used Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, and Unreal Engine to create the axe. He also shared a part of the creation process and the references he used.

dilip jangid is an artist who focuses on props and texturing, implementing details like dents, rust, and wear and tear helps him achieve very realistic looks. Here are other projects he has worked on that show the same level of detail:
