The Elder Scrolls 6 Official Name Revealed
"Did you guess correctly?"
Bethesda
After months of speculation, Bethesda has finally announced the name for The Elder Scrolls 6, as it celebrates its 40th anniversary: the next TES game is called Sentinel.
The name reveal comes from a video featuring a scroll hidden in the sand, with a quote from Yazar, Moth Priest of High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell: "The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate."
"Did you guess correctly?" Bethesda's X/Twitter account asked cheekily, but if you follow the news, this was not a surprise for you – the name has been more or less confirmed in fans' minds for a while now.
"Thank you for 40 years of shared memories. We can’t wait to make even more together with The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Development continues, and while it’ll be some time before we’re ready to share more, it feels great to finally reveal the name and location with you," the studio said.
Naturally, players couldn't help but joke that now we'll have to wait another decade or two for the game to actually come out. You can't blame them: The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced in 2018, and we know that it's still years away from release.
Well, I'd say let Bethesda cook that "classic style that we've missed". Hopefully, Todd Howard won't regret this particular announcement as he did with the original.
