This Tech Device Made with Blender Will Give You Tamagotchi Vibes
It reminded me a lot of my childhood.
The Graphic Designer VALII or weirddesignv on Instagram shared on Reddit a very interesting tech device that reminded me a lot of Tamagotchis, which, if you grew up in the early 2000s, you probably had one.
The artist said that this project allowed them to get out of a mental block. Another user commented that the piece evokes "some chest or head-mounted media player with integrated headphones," and VALII agreed with that idea.
VALII seems to be getting out of a burnout by creating devices with similar vibes: technology with a 90s-2000s style. This one is an MP3 player in the form of an onigiri. The artist said that they were inspired by Windows Media Player skins.
They also said that the interface graphics were made with Photoshop and it was animated with AI.
This one looks more like a Tamagotchi, with kind of steampunk vibes. I feel like it's something you could see in a cozy action game set in a futuristic world. Maybe the tiny bear could be a companion like B-12 in the Stray game.
This one was the first one they did. In the comments, the artist explained that they used Blender's Eevee to create it. They also said that they tried to ignore the burnout.
And said that some advice they could give to others who are going through one is to do a project without pressure and finish it without expectations.
