Type Any Word on Your Phone to See It in Mixed Reality

One more magic trick with Quest 3.

I've been gushing over the ever-improving magic of mixed reality for a while now, so I'll spare you that part today. Instead, take a look at this curious experiment by the creative technologist Erik Natzke. He created a setup that allows him to type any letter using his phone keyboard, and it will appear right in front of him in mixed reality thanks to Meta Quest 3's Passthrough feature and the Unity Multiplayer Networking platform.

"A spatially tracked touch screen turns the familiar into a super tool in #MixedReality. A pointer with touch feedback, camera, screen, compute and internet opens the world of possibilities wide open," he described it on X/Twitter.

What you see is the result of many other experiments Natzke has conducted. More cool AR and MR projects, including playing with a ball, color, and light, can be found on the creator's X/Twitter.
