Ubisoft Proposes a Mutual Termination Plan that Could Affect 200 Employees

This time, workers under French contracts might lose their jobs.

For the last couple of weeks, we have been seeing news about the Ubisoft lay-offs, game cancellations, and delays. This time, Ubisoft proposed a voluntary mutual termination agreement that could affect 200 employees at the headquarters in France.

Two weeks ago, it became known that Ubisoft had fired 55 employees at Massive Entertainment and the Stockholm studio, and last week, they announced the cancellation of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, alongside 5 other games. And even though Ubisoft's shares have dropped to their lowest value due to all these changes, it seems like the restructuring plan is not being halted.

According to IGN, Ubisoft now wants to start a process of a Rupture Conventionnelle Collective (RCC), which allows employees to choose to terminate their contract, all under an agreement between the company and the workers.

"At this stage, this remains a proposal, and no decision will be final until a collective agreement is reached with employee representatives and validated by French authorities. The proposal applies exclusively to Ubisoft International employees under French contracts and has no impact on other French entities or Ubisoft teams worldwide," said a Ubisoft spokesperson.
