UE5-Made Recreation of Harry's Room From Disco Elysium Has Been Completed

Jonjo Hemmens has showcased the final version of the Tequila Sunset project.

After several months of hard work and multiple behind-the-scenes blog posts, Senior Environment Artist at Rocksteady Studios Jonjo Hemmens has finally unveiled the finished version of the Tequila Sunset project, a tribute to ZA/UM's beloved RPG Disco Elysium and a thorough 3D recreation of Harrier "Harry" Du Bois' Whirling-in-Rags room from the game.

"Disco Elysium has become one of my favorite games of all time and I wanted to see how this scene could look in a first-person perspective," commented the creator. "As you can see in the comparison, things aren't exactly 1-1, but adapting an orthographic scene into 3D and maintaining good scale isn't the easiest or the best looking sometimes, so a few changes were made."

According to Jonjo, the scene was set up using such programs as Blender, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter/Designer, Marvelous Designer, Maya, and Unreal Engine 5. Additionally, the creator utilized Megascans "to fill in a few gaps" and some of the assets from the original game.

Furthermore, the artist also collaborated with Jean Zoudi, whom you might remember for creating a highly realistic Harry model and explaining how it was made back in May, who allowed Jonjo to add said model to the scene.
