Clement Kirton experimented with Nanite and Lumen.
Take a look at this peaceful 3D environment, titled Memorial Park, showcased by Senior Environment Artist Clement Kirton. The scene was brought to life with a combination of Unreal Engine, SpeedTree, Blender, Substance 3D Designer, Substance 3D Painter, and ZBrush.
Clement Kirton shared that the project was an exploration of UE5, with an aim to learn more about PCG, Nanite, and Lumen. The artist began developing a PCG system designed to simulate a wide range of biomes, which included ground cover, bushes, trees, and rocks. The assets were built to work together and leverage Data Assets, making it easy to swap elements when creating different biomes.
With the foliage, Clement Kirton wanted to test Nanite and Lumen, so it was made with Geo without using alpha cards. The artist shared that he used mostly SpeedTree and the Substance 3D tools, while also having a few photogrammetry elements.
