Complete 3D Hair Grooming & Simulation Add-On For Blender

Braids, locs, twists, curls, and more, made with BGEN Hair.

BGEN Hair is the latest release from M2ky, the creator of BGEN Picker, a customizable animation picker designed for 3D animators. It gives you a complete workflow for creating and styling all kinds of hair: groom once and choose between strands for film, tubes for stylized projects, or cards for game engines.

Draw parting lines directly on the scalp to split the hair naturally, then use comb strokes to guide its direction and shape. There's a dedicated Braids & Locs panel and tools to create realistic taper fades around the ears and neck. BGEN Hair offers a real-gravity system that lets you simulate lightweight guides while full strands follow their movement live in the viewport. Baking and collider support are included for final renders.

To speed up your workflow, you also get style presets controlled by simple dials, a dedicated hair shader with texture painting, and eight 2K hair-card texture sets ready for game engines. And with the BGEN Hair Library, you can browse and download hairstyles directly inside Blender and grow them on your characters. This tutorial takes you through each step in BGEN Hair's workflow:

BGEN Hair combines and replaces the functionality of BGEN Groom, BGEN Flow, and BGEN Card, while maintaining compatibility with files created using these add-ons. It's not limited to hair: you can grow feathers, scales, beads, and even grass.

It's a one-time purchase, compatible with Blender 4.5 and later. You can learn more and get BGEN Hair here.

Blender 5.3 is scheduled for release on November 10. In the meantime, you can also explore the official Android version.
