Indie Devs Show Action MMORPG Built with Open-Source Software
Meet Ichor Online, an upcoming project from FR3NKD and LeoDev.
3D Artist and Game Developer Francesco Piacenti, also known as FR3NKD, and Game Developer known under the name of LeoDev, unveiled their collaborative game project – an action MMORPG titled Ichor Online, powered by open-source software.
The game is inspired by the classics, such as World of Warcraft and RuneScape. The developers share that they aim to take the best of beloved titles and build a condensed, polished experience with a clear structure. The hand-crafted world of Ichor Online tells a story in itself, with landmarks, environments, enemies, and discoveries, rather than checklists with significant places on a map.
Ichor Online features no quest markers, no pay-to-win, and no hidden subscription fees. It focuses on exploration and skill-based, precise combat and also features crafting, trading, and building your own character through attributes, class skill trees, randomized loot, affixes, sockets, and special effects.

The MMORPG is developed using the Godot engine, Blender, and SpacetimeDB, a real-time backend framework and database for apps and games.
