Jesse Miettinen's "The Last Of Us-Like Generator" Finally Launches

Get Damage Control and start scattering, smudging, generating, and much more.

Time really flies. It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since we first started following Jesse Miettinen's project, which he originally described as "The Last of Us-like generator." Since then, we've seen previews showcasing impressive destruction, scattering, grunge effects, and more.

Now, Damage Control is finally here, bringing together a suite of interconnected tools to help you scatter, smudge, and generate your way to more lifelike scenes. The main toolsets include Smudge Mask Generator, Scatter Tools, and Generative Tools, and there are also extra shaders and Mega Presets to provide ready-made materials and scattering setups.

Damage Control should fit nicely into your existing workflow while giving you plenty of flexibility. It's also well optimized and comes with a YouTube tutorial series to help you get started quickly.

The developer plans to support Damage Control with three years of updates. Since it's built entirely with Geometry Nodes, the tools should continue working well into the future.

Damage Control will be available on Superhive soon, while separate tool releases are planned for after the summer holidays. You can get it on Gumroad here.

Jesse has also recently started publishing his work under the Embrace FX name. Subscribe to our Newsletter, join our 80 Level Talent platformDiscord, and follow us on TwitterLinkedInTelegram, and Instagram, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
