Master Godot 4 For Free With Over 50 Hours Of Game Development Courses

GodotGameLab will teach you a component-based game development approach, how to create a Slay the Spire-style deckbuilder, and build an autobattler.

Godot has been increasingly growing in popularity lately, and the generosity of its community never fails to impress. If you've been thinking about getting started with Godot, you might be interested in the courses from Adam Gulacsi, better known as GodotGameLab. His courses are available for free on YouTube and cover a range of topics to help you learn the engine.

There are already two complete tutorial series available, the first is a Slay the Spire-style deckbuilder course, which runs for around 27 hours over 24 videos. It covers everything from card logic and UI to deck management, map generation, and more. The second is a single-player TFT-style autobattler course, with around 26 hours of content across 30 videos. It goes through grid positioning, AI combat, abilities, combining units, equipping items, and beyond.

A new component-based game development in Godot 4 course is also in progress, with 7 videos already out. It will also be released as a text-based tutorial here. The course will teach you how to create 50 reusable, self-contained components.

The GameDev Tavern, another YouTube channel focused on Godot game development tutorials, has recently started a new series showing how to build a complete 3D dungeon crawler from scratch. Before this, he created a similar step-by-step series covering how to make soccer game and a beat 'em up:

There are also plenty of Godot tutorials that go beyond the basics on our site, for example, MrEliptik has a great video covering how to animate UI:

See how to make a blur shader, a stylized fire shader, and check out TweenFX, a collection of tween animations.
