Procedural VFX: Artwork by John Parsaie

Check out an awesome VFX artwork he made in Unity and Houdini by John Parsaie.

3D artist John Parsaie has shared his fascinating artwork made with Unity and Houdini.

For the hand, he used the MOPs framework in Houdini to create fractures, animated the pieces in the center, added the transform and curl operators, and then moved into Unity and worked with vertex color in Unity.

Looks awesome but a bit painful, right?

If you want to learn more about workflows for VFX using Houdini, check out this interview with Rebelway who discussed the importance and influence of the tool and talked about the procedural approach in 3D art.
