Rokoko Introduced Hand and Finger Capture Solution

Affordable Smartgloves will help artists create hand and finger animation in a more sufficient and faster way.

Award-winning mobcap creator Rokoko presented its new mocap solution for hand and finger animation, Smartgloves. The hardware can be used for fight scenes, as well as for close-ups. The hardware captures the full spectrum of the performance, which speeds up the creator’s workflow.

For tracking movements, Rokoko implements Measurement Unit technology that it previously added to the full-body capture motion solution, too. The generated data can be used directly in the Rokoko studio or live-streamed into other software, including the most common Unity, Unreal Engine, Maya, Blender, and more.

You can now pre-order the hardware for $895 per pair until October 21 on the website. Schools and educational platforms can also use a 10% discount. After the pre-order period, the retail price will be $995. The shipping is expected to begin in November.
