Ryan Gosling's Officer K Recreated in 3D With Unreal Engine 5

This realistic portrait of the actor was made by Brad Myers.

Principal 3D Character Artist Brad Myers has recently unveiled an absolutely incredible and realistic portrait of Officer K, the main character of the 2017 Blade Runner 2049 movie, played by Ryan Gosling. According to the creator, this project was started three years ago at CGMA to nail the actor's likeness in 3D and learn more about the topic of likeness in general.

To recreate the character and his iconic gun, the author utilized ZBrush for sculpting, ZWrap and 3D Scan Store's assets for setting up the pores and some of the base body anatomy, XGen for creating the character's hair, Marvelous Designer to set up the clothes, Maya for making the gun model, Substance 3D Painter for all the texturing work, Marmoset Toolbag for lookdev, Unreal Engine 5 for rendering, and several auxiliary programs such as PureRef, Photoshop, Knald, RizomUV, and DaVinci Resolve.
