Star Wars: Galactic Racer Devs Break Down Playable Vehicle Classes

Some are familiar, and others are completely new.

Back in June, we shared our impressions after trying out Fuse Games' Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and now, a new video unveiled at gamescom put the spotlight on the lineup of vehicles players will be able to race when the game launches this October. If you love racing games and Star Wars, you definitely don't want to miss it.

Thanks to their large and stable design, landspeeders can take quite a few hits without slowing down. They're all about "keeping your foot on the gas, holding speed through the corners by drifting around them". The complete opposite of that, speeder bikes are described as "fast, ferocious, and a bit fragile." They can slow down into corners and store that energy, giving them a burst of speed as they exit.

Unlike the other two, the final vehicle, the skim speeder, is completely new to the Star Wars universe. Designed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, it's described as being "more akin to a lower-level racing plane" and the "most elegant" of all three vehicles.

Of course, podracers, the original racing vehicles of the Star Wars universe, are also part of the lineup.

Just a few days ago, the developers shared a new overview video focused on multiplayer and vehicle customization options:

Let's channel our inner Anakin (in a good way) and hit the track when Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches on October 6 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
