Stardew Valley's 1.7 Update Might Be Its Biggest Yet

ConcernedApe shares Clint and Sandy as marriage candidates are "just the tip of the iceberg."

Stardew Valley's 1.7 update is in the works and might be released next year, developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone has shared.

Barone shared the news during a recent Stardew Valley: Symphony of Seasons concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, as seen in a Reddit video (via GamesRadar): "We're working on the 1.7 update, which is looking to be the largest Stardew Valley update ever." "It's jam-packed," he added.

The 1.7 patch will reportedly feature more character and social content, alongside a new farm type. We already know that Clint and Sandy will be added as marriage candidates, and Barone teased the fans that even more is on the way: "Clint and Sandy are just the tip of the iceberg – there's so much more in the update." The developer also hinted at the release window: "You guys are in for a real treat, and it'll probably come out sometime next year."

Eric Barone is also working on another project, Haunted Chocolatier, which will shift from Stardew's cozy style to something dark and "creepy," with "ghosts, the haunted nature, the castle." It will be larger in scale, is being written from scratch, and doesn't use the same "engine" as Stardew Valley. Haunted Chocolatier will center on a master confectioner living in a haunted castle and feature gathering ingredients, making delicious chocolates, and selling them in a chocolate shop.
