Take a Look at the Environment Art from Highguard – Vesper City

The artwork is very appealing, even if the game itself will be shut down soon.

Derek Bentley, Principal Environment Art, shared on his ArtStation page how the Vesper City map from the game Highguard was created. The game came out in January 2026, and even though it was just announced that it will shut down permanently soon, seeing a project of this high-quality for a AAA game is pretty cool.

The artist said that all the rocks use a sculpted base for the macro forms, and then everything shares a triplanar material that allows blending the rock assets with little to no seams.

He also added that they didn't have a specific concept and that the majority of the environment was put together by him.

In all the scenes, you can see different colors and textures that create a balance and an adventurous atmosphere.

You can check the artist's ArtStation profile. And don't forget to subscribe to our Newsletter and join our 80 Level Talent platform, follow us on TwitterLinkedInTelegram, and Instagram, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
