The tech helped with slope warping.
Epic Games' Senior Technical Product Manager Chase Cooper keeps revealing the power of Unreal Engine in The Witcher 4 through behind-the-scenes footage of its tech demo.
We've seen how new Control Rig Physics works on Ciri's horse Kelpie, and now, let's take a look at how it was used to drive the slope warp (when feet adjust according to the floor).
"I was able to give the rig to CDPR and they put it on all the NPCs. Kelpie used Kiaran Ritchie's FBIK node to help the horse rigging not be so complex," Cooper shared.

Unreal Engine's Control Rig Physics is all we hear about lately, it's an extremely profound tool that can help animators immensely. If you want to master it, check out Stéphane Biava's guide.
The Witcher 4 is in production now, but you won't see it before 2027. Inspired by Kingdom Come and Baldur's Gate 3, it will be CDPR's "most advanced" project.
