This Beautiful 3D Project Will Make You Feel Nostalgic Iron Giant Vibes

It reminded me of a movie I loved as a child.

Egor Ivanov, 3D Artist, shared the Where the Giant Rested project on his ArtStation, saying that it demonstrates a modular approach to building architecture with interchangeable components.

Seeing this scene reminded me of the movie The Iron Giant from 1999, which made me think this environment could be part of a sci-fi game where robots live alongside humans, but something has been affecting both, and you need to find a cure that could help the remaining ones.

Ivanov used Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, SpeedTree, and Unreal Engine to create it. Here are some WIP images he shared:

You can check out Egor Ivanov's breakdown of a samurai mask that we shared in the past, or you can see another of his impressive works, like this Magic Library, or the Silent Room, Loud Memories project, which has differences from different anime series, like One Piece, Demon Slayer, Fullmetal Alchemist, Pokémon, and others.
