This Metroid Fusion Animated Fan Art Created with Unreal Engine and ZBrush is Really Impressive

Juliano Souza, 3D Artist, shared on ArtStation a Metroid Fusion fan art he created as a study project.

Metroid Fusion is an action-adventure game developed and published in 2002 for the Game Boy Advance. It was a well-received game, and it got good reviews for the gameplay, graphics, and music. The protagonist of the game is Samus, an ex-soldier of the Galactic Federation who became a bounty hunter.

Souza's fan art feels like a homage to the game. He used Meta Human for Samus' mesh and sculpted the face and clothes using ZBrush. He used the same programs to create Sa-X.

The hardsurface modeling and background were created with 3ds Max, and the hair was made with Ornatrix. The artist also added that he used Substance 3D Painter, and the rendering was made in real-time in Unreal Engine. The details in the suit, the lighting, and the reflections make the character and the scene look more realistic.
