Using Data Transfer In Blender To Smooth Seams Between Separate Meshes
A quick tip.
3D Artist known as zxc99707 recently shared a handy tip for using the Data Transfer modifier to fix gaps between two meshes. You can see this demonstrated in the video above, and here's more from the artist:
"Another technique for eliminating seams:
When vertices are modified, Blender typically recalculates the normals automatically; this is how 'normal seams' are created. However, you can prevent this recalculation by adding Custom Normals Data in advance.
If you are concerned about the accuracy of the normals (the normals in the video were copied, so they are actually skewed toward one side), this method will provide you with perfectly accurate normals."
