Check Out This Overwatch-Inspired Game-Ready Cybernetic Huntress Character
She looks like she could be an iconic character of a battle royale game or hero shooter.
Marie Gourvil, Junior Character Artist, shared the Cybernetic Huntress project on her ArtStation, which was created at Artside School. It's a game-ready character inspired by the strong shapes of Overwatch, based on a concept by the artist Lzz.
The character looks very stylized and has a lot of personality. The artist said that she started by sculpting a detailed high-poly model in ZBrush, then she retopologized and UVd in Maya to get a more game-ready result. The rendering and texturing were done using Marmoset Toolbag and Substance 3D Painter.
"This project was a great opportunity to deepen my understanding of the full PBR pipeline, from high-poly to clean bake, and to refine Roughness and Metallic maps alongside the Albedo," added Gourvil.
She also said that she took inspiration from the games Wayfinder and SUPERVIVE, especially for the texturing. Here are WIP images she shared:
Marie Gourvil is an artist who is developing skills in creating 3D characters that would fit in different games with hand-painted styles. Like this Samurai 武士——散桜, which is based on a concept by 饺子, or the Queen of the Nile, which is an Arcane-style inspired project with vibrant colors.
You can check out other game-ready characters we have shared, such as this medieval character that was made by Sausthav, or Ricardo Sánchez's stylized hero-shooter 3D that was also inspired by Arcane, or Yusuf Kemal Borekci's character, Tetra.
