Creating Silent Hill With UE4 & Quixel Tools

Quixel shared a new breakdown which shows how Wiktor Öhman recreated Silent Hill’s iconic bathroom scene in UE4 with the help of the Megascans library, Quixel Bridge and Quixel Mixer.

“I’ve always loved the aesthetics of the Silent Hill Games, so I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could bring it into today’s day and age.”

The scene was created using Megascans and rendered in UE4 using Raytracing Global Illumination and Reflections. Make sure to watch the tutorial the artist made with the workflow and techniques explained. Also, don’t miss the Quixel livestream on Friday the 13th!
