Detailed Reimagination of The Last of Us Part 2 Environment

Barış Kılıç showcases his redesign of the Santa Barbara section.

If you miss The Last of Us Part 2, be sure to have a look at Barış Kılıç's redesign of one of the environments from the Santa Barbara section.

Mediterranean Echoes is Kılıç's personal reinterpretation, where he changed the corridor and built the bathroom entirely from scratch.

"Almost every asset, material, and lighting setup was created from scratch, which gave me the opportunity to focus on material definition, lighting, composition, and the overall storytelling of a confined interior space. Drawing on my background in interior architecture, I was able to explore spatial design, architectural logic, and layout decisions, creating a scene that feels both cohesive and immersive."

The artist was inspired by Katelyn Johnson's work and pushed to "refine real-time rendering workflows in Unreal Engine, experimenting with RGB masking, vertex painting, trim sheet creation, and custom shaders."

The scene was made using 3ds Max, Unreal Engine, Substance 3D Designer, Substance 3D Painter, SpeedTree, ZBrush, Maya, and Marmoset Toolbag.

You can find other gorgeous projects on Kılıç's ArtStation
